I’m Jeannie Griffin Bennett. Welcome to my “No B.S.” blog devoted to writing in your everyday life. I have a Ph.D. in Technical Communication and Rhetoric, an M.A. in Technical Communication. I’m a teacher of writing. I’m a writer. I’ve been an editor and a webmaster and a host of other things.
This isn’t a site about writing a novel, or your memoir, or a script for a movie. This is a site about the kind of writing you do everyday that you might sometimes need help with or advice about. Need to tweak your resume? Not sure what should go in your cover letter? Need to write a proposal at work but not sure how to get started? Need to improve your emailing skills? Ever wondered what makes good instructions useful and what makes bad instructions so hilariously awful?
Then look no further! I love writing and communicating. I have a knack for helping others with their writing. I have an intuition about what works and what doesn’t, and the education and experience to help me figure out how. I love writing, including the good the bad and the WTF. I collect instructions. For fun.
I hope you find something useful on this site. I hope you even find it mildly interesting and at times entertaining.
If you’d like help on a writing related issue that is plaguing you in your everyday life, leave a comment and I’ll help if I can.
